OUR UNIQUE PLANK TABLES HAVE ROOTS IN DANISH HISTORY
At emmanordic, we produce unique plank tables from just a single plank. This means that we don’t offer standard products. Each individual table is completely unique and unlike anything else in the entire kingdom. After the bombardment of Copenhagen in 1807, the British stole the Danish naval fleet. As a result, a royal decree was issued to plant new oak forests, ensuring a future supply of materials for new warships. However, the technological advancements in the following 200 years eliminated the need for navy-grade oak. That’s why we can now offer unique tables crafted from giant planks with roots in Danish history.
OUR PLANKS
All table tops are meticulously milled to ensure a flat surface, after which we complete the finish with the finest “grain” sanding, resulting in silky smooth edges and a tabletop free of sanding marks. Cracks and knots are filled with epoxy glue, creating a fantastic interplay of patterns in the wood.
You can choose from several colors. We only use the best oils and care products available in the market. You won’t have to cry over spilled milk or red wine, as our surface treatment is dirt and moisture repellent, enduring both everyday life and festive occasions. Should you be unlucky enough to create a scratch on the tabletop, our care kit ensures you can perform a “localized” oil repair without having to sand the entire table first.
